Fairtrade Fortnight and Art Competition

We took part in a variety of activities whilst learning more about Fairtrade and we also took part in the local council’s Fair Trade Art competition. Several of our children won prizes and were invited to a presentation at Trinity Church where they were also treated to juice and cake!

World Book Day

To celebrate World Book Day we dressed up as book characters or in pyjamas (for bedtime stories). Some children also dressed up clothes pegs to look like book characters – see if you can spot which characters they are.

Y4 Lego Visit

Some of our Year 4 children visited Newcastle under Lyme College to take part in a Lego Challenge morning. They had to design a robot using Lego and programme the robot to move a specified distance.
Good teamwork was essential. The children all completed the challenge successfully and every much enjoyed their morning.

Benchball

On Tuesday 11th February, some of our year 2 children took part in a benchball tournament in our studio against other schools.  They all played very well and both came a very creditable 3rd in their leagues.  Well done and thank you for representing our school so well.

Regent Dance 2020

Dancers from Year 3 took part in the Regent Dance ‘020 Festival in January at the Regent Theatre, Hanley. They gave an excellent performance.

Young Voices 2020

In January, some of Year 3 and 4 children took part in the Young Voices concert at Manchester Arena. It was an amazing night and they were brilliant!

Strictly Come Dancing!

On Tuesday 19th November, the Strictly Come Dancing Club had their tea party dance.  All the children were fabulous, they looked amazing and put on a great show; worthy of any TV programme.  They were joined afterwards for a tea party, by their fans, which was enjoyed by all.  Thank you to Mrs Hales, Mrs Heath and Mrs Hollins for providing the club and also arranging the tea party.

Rugby Festival

On Wednesday 20th November, 20 of our Year 4 children went to Leek Rugby Club to take part in a rugby festival.  They had an amazing time playing lots of different games, all of which helped them to understand more about how to play rugby.  Everyone had a fantastic time, played with a smile on their faces and behaved brilliantly well – thank you and well done!  Thank you to everyone who came to watch too.

Remembrance Sunday

Well done and thank you to the children who laid a wreath on behalf of our school on Remembrance Sunday. They were excellent representatives for our school and we are very proud of them.

Cross Country

On Tuesday 8th October, 20 of our year 3 and year 4 children took part in a team cross country event on our school field against lots of other schools. They all ran exceptionally well and were very successful.  3 of our teams currently lie in 1st place with the other team lying in a creditable 5th place.  This will give us a great starting point, on which to build, when the tournament is completed in November.  Well done to all of our runners, you showed great determination and self belief.  Thank you to everyone who came to support us.
