Operation Encompass

The school has been given the opportunity to take part in a project that will run jointly between schools and Staffordshire Police.
Operation Encompass is the reporting to schools, prior to the start of the next school day, when a child or young person has experienced any domestic abuse.
Operation Encompass will ensure that a member of the school staff (Mrs Woollacott or Mrs Johnson), known as a Key Adult, is trained to allow them to liaise with the police and to use the information that has been shared, in confidence, while ensuring that the school is able to make provision for possible difficulties experienced by children, or their families, who have experienced a domestic abuse incident.
We are keen to offer the best support possible to all our children and we believe this will be extremely beneficial for all those involved. We would encourage anyone who wishes to talk about this further to get in touch, in confidence.

Covid-19 Update – January 2021

Key Worker Places

Hello. Further to this evening’s announcement, unfortunately we will not be able to open tomorrow as we need to organise key worker places. School will be open from Wednesday for those children with confirmed places. Please click the link below if you wish to request a key worker place and we will confirm places as soon as possible tomorrow.

As far as we are aware, the Government’s definition of a critical worker includes the following:
• Health & Social care – frontline health and social care workers, those working as part of the health & care supply chain
• Education & childcare – teaching staff & social workers
• Key Public services – justice system, key frontline services
• Food and other necessary goods – food production, distribution, sale and delivery
• Public and national security
• Transport – air, water, rail & freight transport modes
• Utilities, communication and financial – essential financial services, oil, gas, electricity and water sectors, IT infrastructure, 999 and 111 critical services, postal, payments providers and waste disposal sectors

We will be able to accept children only on your working days and only for full days, and this will be subject to enough places being available. We will do our best to offer places where only one parent is a key worker but if we do not have enough places, then we may have to offer places only to children where both parents are key workers. We hope to avoid this if at all possible but are limited by the number of rooms, space and staff that we have available. Please help us by only requesting a place if you have absolutely no alternative available.

If you have more than one child, please complete a separate form for each one.
