Welcome to Westwood First School
We are delighted that your child will be joining us in September and would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our school. Due to the current restrictions in place we are unable to run our planned programme of transition events, meetings and “Stay and Play” sessions at this time; however, we remain hopeful that that some of these can take place before the new academic year. We will be in touch as soon as we have more information available to us and would like to thank you in advance for your patience and support.
We understand that your child may not currently be attending a nursery or preschool setting, and that some of you may be worrying about them starting school. We want to assure you that we will be flexible where needed, and that there will be transition arrangements in place to ensure your child has a happy and well-supported start to school life.
Update June 2020
As we are unsure about whether we will be able to hold any of our transition events before the start of the new academic year, due to the COVID-19 restrictions which are still currently in place, here is some of the information that we would usually share at the Welcome Meeting.
Please have a read through the information and then the Reception teachers, Mrs White and Mrs Thorne, will give you a call during the week of 8th June to introduce themselves and answer any questions you might have.
